How do I play The Storm?

To play The Storm we recommend Minecraft Version 1.16.5. You can select different versions of Minecraft via the main menu when loading the launcher and select 1.16.5.

A professional approach
Sure, there are hundreds thousands of survival servers out there. What makes us stand apart from everyone else Well, Im a system administrator, Java developer, and professional web developer. Ive spent years of my life running Minecraft servers, and Ive developed many Minecraft related tools Many of which are used in running this server, including plugins, server managers, and websites.

We have a dedicated server hosted in Canada managed by myself and a mature team of staff members who have several years of experience. What youll receive at The Storm is an experience that should be given on any other survival server, but unfortunately isnt a chance to simply enjoy the game with others, without worrying about the administrators messing something up or the server suddenly disappearing.

Im a well-known developer in the Spigot community. I hope that my server reflects the quality of my work, and the pride I put into it. Not just in what I create, but also in how you experience it.

Dedicated server 24/7 uptime, with notifications to all staff members when downtime is detected through a third-party service
Mature staff All of our staff members have been trained both on our server and through previous experience on other servers they have worked for
Nightly backups Our server automatically restarts and creates an off-site backup to ensure that we will always have a recent backup in case of emergency
Experienced Ive been a member of the server owner community for 5 years now. Ive worked for several servers as a web developer and system administrator. I dont plan on abandoning the game anytime soon.

Survival
Our survival server is our focus. We have developed a small suite of custom plugins to tailor the servers experience to enhance game play without modifying the core aspects of Minecraft. Youll still be able to do everything youd expect to on any other survival server.

We run a custom town plugin called stTowns, which is meant to be a Towny replacement. It offers many of the same features, while providing many more, such as advanced town ranks, fine-grained plot permissions, and a system for town progression.

Creative
Our creative server is like most others. We have two worlds that can be built in, a standard plot world with 80x80 plots, along with a large plot world with 256x256 plots. You have no limit as far as how many plots can be claimed, and full access to both VoxelSniper and WorldEdit. We dont impose any silly restrictions. You can download your plots in the popular MCEdit .schematic format after you are finished building them. We have several great builders with us who have built some truly stunning creations on the server, including our spawns. Feel free to come by and look at their work for inspiration
